Trump demands acquiring Greenland like spoiled kid needing lollipop

(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday, demanded immediate negotiations to acquire Greenland, emphasizing its strategic importance for both national and international security.

Addressing an audience of global political and business leaders, Trump claimed that the United States alone could safeguard the Arctic territory. “That's the reason I'm seeking immediate negotiations to once again discuss the acquisition of Greenland by the United States,” he said, presenting Denmark with a choice to agree or face U.S. displeasure.

Although he underscored America’s “unstoppable” military capabilities, Trump clarified that he would not use force to take the island, calling such action unnecessary and undesirable. “I don't have to use force. I don't want to use force. I won't use force,” he said.

Beyond Greenland, Trump criticized Europe on multiple issues, including tariffs and economic policies, claiming the continent was “not heading in the right direction.” His focus on Greenland dominated his Davos appearance, overshadowing other agenda items at the forum.
